The mission of Teachers Supporting Teachers (TST) is to mobilize and support teacher leaders to have a lasting impact in their schools. We seek to keep our best teachers in the classroom to ensure every child receives the education they deserve. TST is a 501c3 organization that has raised over $2.1 million and currently operates with an annual budget of over $500,000. We are proud and grateful to be supported by Chicago Public Schools, IMC Charitable Foundation, McDougal Family Foundation, Finnegan Family Foundation, Osa Foundation, Polk Bros. Foundation, Fry Foundation, Square One Foundation, CME Group Foundation, Christopher Family Foundation, Lowenstein Family Foundation, and so many other generous individual donors. We currently operate 40+ TST Impact Teams in over 30 schools throughout Chicago. These teams bring together and empower 150+ teacher leaders who are positively impacting over 11,000 students. The existence of these Impact Teams have consistently resulted in increased teacher retention rates and higher scores on the 5Essentials annual survey. We also host regular EDworking Events each year that serve to mobilize and empower teacher leaders to enact change within their schools. Over 400 community members and teacher leaders from over 150 schools have attended these events.

Selected to participate in the LUCENT (Leadership for Urban Primary Care Education and Transformation) program. LUCENT is a multi-disciplinary program that aims to develop effective leaders for primary care transformation in urban communities. I received expanded ambulatory clinical training, participated in seminars, and led practice innovation projects. Through the clinical, didactic, and hands-on project experiences, the program prepares physicians to effectively practice primary care and become leaders in today’s ongoing transformation of primary care.

I was one of three members of the residency class of 2023 elected by peers to represent our class and work with residency program leadership to evaluate current educational practices and implement new initiatives.

The Community Champions program seeks to empower, connect, and support resident/fellow leaders in community engagement via participation in a communication engagement curriculum. Served as ambassador to the Pediatrics Residency program to increase awareness and engagement with our South-Side community.

The council endeavors to support transparency, alignment, and engagement between UCMC residents, fellow and health system leaders

Assisted the UCSC in the development and planning of campus and community wide events and initiatives
