Establish protocol and oversee delivery of medical care in a Level 2 Trauma center with an annual census of 30,000 visits and 17% acuity. Established an Ultrasound training and Quality review program. Brought the system up to date with electronic patient tracking in order to monitor and improve patient flow. As a Captain, then Major, I filled a Lieutenant Colonel position managing all aspects of health care delivery in a 17,000 visit Emergency Room. This included oversight of a $1+ million dollar budget as well as all personnel decisions & evaluations. Oversaw the training, implementation and quality review for Ultrasound in the Emergency Room. Succeeded in leading the way for the Department of Defense in Emergency Room utilization of the newly deployed electronic medical record (AHLTA). Received commendations (MSM) for this service. Deployed to Kosovo and filled the role of chief of the medical staff as the Deputy Commander of Clinical Services for Task Force Falcon IX. Received commendations (CoA) for my service in this role.
