Melissa Memorial Hospital is a 15-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Holyoke, CO.  MMH is known for high quality of care, excellent patient satisfaction, and awesome employee satisfaction.

Team sent to establish a Field Hospital but ended up acted as liason between the State of Florida, local County Health Departments, and Long Term Care facilities in South Florida responding to the COVID-19 crises.

Service line development: Leader charged with operationalizing all facets of two separate multi-disciplinary campuses including Free Standing Emergency Department and 40,000 square feet of affiliated medical office space. Being the first two campuses to open within our system and among the first to open in Central Florida there were many details to sort and solutions to implement. Community champion of service line.Liaison and recruiter for allied physician practices within a synergistic family offering comprehensive healthcare services.Developer/Manager of rehab and outpatient radiology and lab on site services.Primary administrator of new Freestanding Emergency Department.Responsible for developing and implementing the real estate plan including office leases, rate, and all vendor contracts.Led all aspects of freestanding emergency department.Nursing, imaging, laboratory, transfers, outpatient services, security, facilities, budgeting and operations. Medical office building management including physician recruitment, strategic alliances, operations.Responsible for the overall strategy development, communication, and implementation of the business plan for the market, including growth, patient satisfaction, quality, physician relationships and people management of campuses.

Direct and manage a staff of 40. Designated hospital Safety Officer, Designated hospital Emergency Management Officer. Extensive project management experience in regard to regulatory and policy management initiatives throughout all levels of the organization of some 1600 employees. Responsible for designing and delivering complex training to groups large and small. Leadership in the Environment of Care Committee, Co-Chair the Security and Safety Committee, and Chairman the Emergency Management Committee. Regularly interface with Local and State agencies as well as representatives of regulatory bodies such as OSHA, AHCA, and The Joint Commission.• Led diverse groups through major changes and re-structuring of protocols and priorities in reference to staff and patient life safety.• Change management leadership of major hospital departments during an organizational takeover. Develop, implement, review, and revise policies, procedures, and programs necessary to maintain a safe and healthy environment and to provide an adequate response to critical incidents and emergencies. • Cultivated community partnerships by inviting local fire and police to train alongside the hospital personnel. • Wrote hospital Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, authored multiple policies and procedures.• Improved compliance at all levels through extensive staff training on Incident Command, NIMS, and HICS; recognized for excellence in training by senior management.• Led Hospital Emergency Management through a rigorous Joint Commission Survey. Cared for and transported patients with severe illness or injury who required advanced measures such as defibrillator, EKG monitor, ventilators, IV pumps, Hemodynamic monitoring devices, advanced airway adjuncts, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR and other procedures, equipment and medications. Communicated with receiving facility to receive medical direction and provide critical information. • Selected to serve as a member of the new Critical Care Program due to performance excellence. • Achieved the distinction of Field Training Officer for new hire orientation within a few months of hire date.
