In this voluntary role, I have helped to set up a new entity and secure the future for a charity on brink of failure in early 2017. As trustees, we have set up a new governance structure, developed an income strategy and secured funding for the foreseeable future.

I provide advice on strategy, income generation and business planning to charities and social sector organisations

Led the business development, marketing and enterprise teams at a £3.5m housing charity and developed a new income strategy that brought in £3m. Built a new team of 10 to access new money through fundraising, contracts and social enterprise

I managed all aspects of a business development process that delivered a 5-year growth strategy. I brought in new contracts, funding and social investment worth over £30m, doubled turnover and increased our delivery sites from 60 to 150. • Built relationships with local government and bidding partnerships with other charities that allowed us to access many new business areas and sectors • Developed commercial offers and business models for new youth services (£5.5m), early intervention services (£3m) plus many childcare settings and children’s centres• Increased bid success rate to 58% by introducing new writing techniques, business modelling and opportunity/risk tools

I was promoted twice in a commercial/sales team for the UK’s leading provider of counter terrorism equipment. In my final role, I led a team of four and was responsible for all bids and proposals for the Europe, Middle East and Asia markets.I managed an innovative £20m project to send counter-IED equipment into Iraq and Afghanistan. This was transformational and opened new income streams with MOD, FCO, DFID and many international organisations.

In my first significant role after leaving university, I developed proposals for a leading manufacturing company. I was promoted and was made a member of an international team that implemented a new global CRM system.
