National Security Advisor to Senator Joe Donnelly (D-IN). Ran the Senator's defense and foreign policy team, including work related to his role as Ranking Member of the Strategic Forces Subcommittee of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Provided strategic planning and policy, programmatic, and technical analysis in support of undersea nuclear deterrence programs, including requirements development for the TRIDENT II D5LE2 submarine-launched ballistic missile and other strategic capabilities. Provided on- and off-site analytical and policy support to the COLUMBIA-Class Submarine Program (PMS397) Director and Program Manager, including strategic advisory and flag oversight support.

As a political appointee in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, executed a full range of sensitive assignments, priority research, and analysis directly for senior Department leadership, frequently requiring rapid assessment and evaluation.Awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service.

Formulated and directed legislative policy and strategy for the Congressman’s work on the Armed Services, Homeland Security, and Select Intelligence Committees, including as Ranking Member on the Emerging Threats and Capabilities subcommittee and as the only Democrat on both the Armed Services and Intelligence Committees. Served as principal advisor on all matters affecting national security, cyberspace, and intelligence policy.
