May 1987 — August 2014OSP/Senior Facilities Engineer, to Plan & design the construction installation, termination, and maintenance of the University’s telecommunication system some 380 buildings in all (I found that tunnels and mechanical rooms where easier to find than the front door of many buildings.)Accomplishments: 2011-2014 –Personally tasked with the Reinforcements of fiber between various Campuses, including Video DOCSIS2010-2014—oversaw the design and installation of fiber plant to reinforce the DAS initiative on the Ann Arbor Campus. 360 buildings in all. DAS fiber reinforcements enabling the Macro cell, Micro cell expansion now serving over 48 dorms. 2010-2014- design of POP fiber for growth and redundancy, allowing various vendors access into the CO, Data Headed and DATA centers.Supervise cable/conduit & MH installation.1999-2001—rallied the troops in construction of I-2 FIBER BACKBONE PROJECT/ FDDI ring developing a wide area network upgrade to gigabit speeds. 864 strands encompassing, Fourteen (14) kilometers of single mode fiber on three campuses. Star Topology1999-Present, design review and overseen the installation build of OSP conduit reinforcement to future proof the off campus inclusion of DATA Centers and the East Medical Campus.1989 Advised as Team Lead the installation of Educom Fiber in the development of the University initial data system.1985-1986—participated as part of an inspection team having a strong background in OSP & ISP installation, for 26 month construction of the University of Michigan.
