I am a qualified tax professional and with almost twenty years experience as a Partner in two different accountancy practices, I consider myself to be an accountant “qualified by experience”. My background is largely based with owner managed businesses, providing a wide range of accountancy and taxation services, ensuring that clients comply with the statutory regulations and wherever possible, seeking to legally minimise tax liabilities. I try to get to know my clients well to ensure that I understand their requirements and what services they need from me and the staff at Collett Hulance. The personal touch is extremely important to me and I believe is an asset strongly valued by my clients. During my career I have dealt with a wide range of persons and personalities, on one occasion setting up a Company in the British Virgin Islands and in another instance, dealing with a takeover of one of my larger clients by a multi national Company, which involved learning a whole range of new skills. This whole exercise proved to be a great challenge and the ultimate successful sale of my clients business was one of the most rewarding achievements of my career to date. I have also guided clients on a number of mergers and acquisitions over the years often mediating between the two parties to facilitate the smooth transition from business ideas to a profitable trading reality. I am though, primarily, a general accountancy practitioner specialising in corporate and income tax planning and compliance with the emphasis on the personal approach, not to mention my golfing prowess !
