As a Marine Surveyor I was assigned to the Voyage Repair Division where I coordinated and managed assigned ship repair availabilities on various class ships as well as the new Littoral Combat Ship throughout the U.S. Naval Seventh Fleet. Planned and executed three successful Restricted Availabilities (RAV's) and Planed Maintenance Availabilities (PMAV's) on the USS FORT WORTH (LCS-3) at CHANGI Naval Base, Singapore. I was assigned to the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN refueling overhaul where my areas of responsibility include hull/structure and deck machinery. I performed and coordinated all functions associated with contract administration for contracts I initiated and managed, which include all aspects of aircraft carrier maintenance, repair and alteration. This includes planning as well as shipboard execution to ensure the contract meets the needs of the fleet and/or customer and Huntington IngallsIndustries - Newport News (HII-NNS).

Bahrain

As a Marine Surveyor in the Voyage Repair Division I was responsible for the planning and execution of emergent surface ship repairs on various class ships throughout the U.S. Naval Fifth Fleet. Planning included developing detailed work specifications utilizing technical manuals, NAVSEA Standard Items and various Navy instructions. During execution of work I analyzed, planned and carried out surveyor tasks independently and resolved production, labor and material conflicts as they arose. I coordinated production efforts of each contractor to ensure they were adhering to specific requirements as established in the contract which included in process surveillance as well as any associated critical tests to verify their work.

Performed project management for availabilities where Huntington Ingalls Industries - Newport News had been contracted to perform aircraft carrier maintenance, repair or alterations. As a Production Controller in the Aircraft Carrier Refueling and Overhaul Project Office for over 22 years, I was responsible for contract review, execution, work specification review, performance of ship checks and development of work packages associated with several major work categories such as deck machinery, hull/structure and auxiliary systems.

Performed project oversight of HII-NNS Quality Management system as required by the contract/QA directives. Performed the following SUPSHIPNN responsibilities using attributes such as the Project management Team's assigned work, document Review, Procedure Evaluations (PE), Product Verification inspections (PVI), Quality Audits, Submitting and Managing Corrective Action Request (CAR) and Quality Data Evaluation:• Interfaced regularly with SUPSHIP NN engineering and project offices• Developed/Implemented surveillance plans that supported QA initiatives and availability schedule• Organized and managed CAR’s in my areas of responsibilities• Participated in weekly status meetings with senior QA officials• Routinely communicated with NNS to discuss issues and concerns, including how we could better help each other to implement corrective actions and/or lessons learned
