Us

As an early employee of a Fintech start-up, I reported directly to the CEO, managing the team for the West Coast and Mid-West regions. We enjoyed a successful exit, selling the company for $380M to Citi Bank in 2005. From 2001-2005, I managed the San Francisco office, where myself and my team generated and managed a third of the total annual recurring revenues, during each of the 4 years before the sale to Citi Bank. After the purchase in 2005, I stayed on to help launch Citi’s exchange, called “LavaFlow”. In 2007, Citi Bank acquired the high frequency trading company Automated Trading Desk (“ATD”), and I assumed the responsibilities of selling their HFT product to the institutional community.

My roommate and I created the first on-line service to rate and review restaurants. We were stubbornly committed to posting our reviews using video, as we believed video was the future of information sharing online. However, in 1993, the average download speed was orders of magnitude slower than today (remember the 14.4 baud modem?) All of this meant the internet wasn't ready for us. After two years we had to take day jobs at an investment bank to pay the rent, and the dream deferred...
