Michael Hooper hails from Adelaide and is a highly respected senior executive with over 24 years’ experience in management, leadership and client operations. Michael joins VicRoads Registration & Licensing Services (R&L) at a time of change. The Victorian Government has entered a joint venture partnership with a consortium to deliver a modernised VicRoads R&L and Custom Plates service. Michael brings with him his knowledge and experience in leading successful operational change. Michael was the Chief Operating Officer with Land Services SA from 2018 to 2022 and among his achievements were the successful transition of staff from government, which included cultural change to the new private enterprise. Michael was responsible for developing and driving business transformational strategies that improved customer experience and operational efficiencies, as well as building key relationships between operations and support divisions to ensure business areas received the right levels of operational support.Prior to Michael's Land Services SA role, Michael enjoyed an eight-year tenure as Executive, Operations with CoreLogic International. Michael started his career in commercial lending, operations, customer service and project delivery with companies such as Westpac and HP. He then went on to create start-up business ValEx. ValEx provided a workflow and compliance solution for lenders to manage their valuation processes through a single portal. ValEx was later acquired by CoreLogic. In 2010 Michael established and was Chair of the National Residential Industry Advisory Council (RVI). This council comprised of industry stakeholders such API, major Valfirms, major lenders and LMI’s with the key objective to address emerging issues in the valuation industry. These roles provided Michael with the framework for excellence in leadership, operations, innovation and delivery.
