With over 20 years as a benefits consultant, Michael leads consulting engagements with employers of all sizes regarding their health, dental, life and disability plans. Through extensive industry experience and a passion for client satisfaction, Michael develops tailored solutions that meet client specific business challenges designed to maximize the management of benefit programs. Michael engages with clients through planning, strategy, benchmarking, design, pricing, financial management and vendor management to ensure benefit programs are innovative and cost effective. Born and raised in Halifax, Michael began his career in consulting after completing his undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University majoring in finance. While working as an analyst in the Health and Benefits practice of Mercer, Michael completed his Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation. After several years of developing his technical analysis skills, Michael broadened his business acumen by completing a Master of Business Administration degree through Saint Mary’s University. Now responsible for managing a team of professionals, Michael is accountable for monitoring the success of projects in terms of scope, budget, timeliness and overall client satisfaction. Currently residing in Halifax, Michael is a member of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute and is actively involved with the local universities regarding various student development workshops.
