Hi, I'm Michael and I'm a WOO'er. Ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed meeting new people and "winning others over." At university, my wooing powers (and a lot of luck) landed me in a relationship with the most beautiful girl I had ever met. This was my first encounter with a Kiwi and also the reason why I emigrated to New Zealand from the States at the start of 2011. I am very happy to say that me and said beautiful Kiwi have been married for 10 years and are raising our two gorgeous kiddies in Christchurch. Since I love to win others over, this led me naturally down the career path of sales and management. I've come a long way since selling furniture at Smith's City in 2011. Back then, I was a features and benefits salesman. In my most recent role as Regional Manager for Jani-King, I was utilising proven sales techniques to navigate complex franchise sales and win new clients in one of New Zealand's most competitive industries - commercial cleaning/property services.Quick fire professional facts about me, in no particular order: - I have 5+ years of B2B experience- I was the assistant manager of 50 staff & $16M annual revenue- I led the most profitable region in FY2022, by generating more-than-double the net profit percentage than that of any of the other regions.- Business Development is in my DNA. I am a natural hunter.- I have the confidence to connect, network, and sell to anyone, at any business level- I am highly motivated to succeed, mostly due to my massive mortgage, but also naturally- I love to win, celebrate success with the whole team, and make sure credit is given to all involvedAnd, the same for personal facts: - A Proper Philly Cheesesteak from my hometown Philly will always be my favourite food- I lived in my 1978 Hurst Brothers caravan for 10 months with my wife and then 3-year-old, while we built our home in Bannockburn- I love all the outdoor activities Central Otago has to offer- I enjoy landscaping and adding value to our properties- I was in a hip hop dance crew at university on Long Island and competed in NYC

Key Account RepresentativeMetro Performance Glass Jun 2017 - Jul 2018Christchurch, New ZealandAs the Key Account Representative for MPG's Christchurch merchants, I provided solution-based B2B sales service and technical advice to my clients. My experience garnered from 2012, in the post-earthquake trade industry of New Zealand's Garden City, helped me to better understand the market and challenges my clients faced in the ever-evolving seismic city. Working for New Zealand's leading glass company provided me with sound industry insight and access to the best support, logistics, and products available. As building regulations changed and evolved, part of my job was to convey these changes to our clients and ensure their glass complied with their desired application. This was made possible by MPG's direct involvement with GANZ and a team of top engineering and technical advisors, whom I would consult and extract as much information from as possible. Through my learnings, I was able to offer the best customised technical solutions to suit my clients' specific needs and glass applications.Achievements:- Promoted from entry level sales rep to KAM within my first 5 months.- Became the intermediary that processed and explained technical information for my clients, as well as other reps and the QS team. - Created an easily understood guide for specifying balustrade glass.- Mostly a farming role, which led to noticeable growth amongst key clients, amidst significant factory and regulation challenges.- Doubled the monthly sales for one key account to approximately $26k by identifying additional sales opportunities.- Maintained all key account relationships, two of whom were threatening to cease business with MPG prior to me assuming the role as their account manager.
