About Michael Ind
I have more than 20 years’ experience within the IT/Telecom (Data Centre) industry, mostly managing Data Centre infrastructure components, such as structured cabling (UTP CAT6 copper, SM/MM and FC fibre), managing cabling, quoting, design, implementations, patching of cabling to Server/Storage and network nodes. Managing structured cabling capacity demands on behalf of I.T. Infrastructure and network engineering teams. I’m also responsible for maintaining and updating all data centre cabling documentation using OpenDCIM, Excel, Visio & AutoCAD. Working closely with Procurement to manage cabling suppliers and proposals through to signoff after installation and testing. I’m accountable and responsible for coordinating/making sure all office and local computer rooms cabling and patching requests implementations are completed by the cabling teams for voice and data including PBAX and VoIP infrastructure, including office IT related moves and migrations as well as physical connectivity design and rack server designs. I participate in IT projects and facilities related team meetings, providing the relevant data centre activity updates or taking new requirements to deliver the required cabling solutions.
