I offer my clients a collaborative, tailored approach to therapy. I come to this industry armed with rich life experience as much as academic achievements, and am happy to share that I'm in a state of personal growth - which I hope will continue as long as I'm alive!I've found comfort and success in pursuing daily exercise and meditation and nourishing with a clean, mostly raw, plant-based diet. I've reached new levels of personal awareness and spiritual understanding through ongoing personal therapy and studying the Dharma. It is my goal to share these gifts with others so that they too can level up their lives, live more harmoniously, and discover joy and meaning beyond mere existence. I aim to help people come to understand themselves better; achieve contentment with the way things are, but also identify goals and turbocharge strategies and motivation for achieving them.My style is collaborative, person-centered, and integrative. I work with clients to identify their specific goals and discuss various treatment options, so that they can select a format which will be comfortable for them. However, I will also challenge and inspire my clients to progress towards their goals (to a degree that is helpful and acceptable to them). I value humanistic, solution-focussed, and gestalt interventions, as well as theory from CBT, DBT, IFS, positive psychology, and narrative therapy. Compassion, respect, and uniqueness are fundamental to my work; clients can expect that I will not shy away from exploring identity, as this is key to understanding how our selves interact with the world we are a part of. My clients can be assured that their individuality and diversity will be valued, regardless of who they are, where they come from, who they love, what they do or have done, how they identify, and how others see them. I'm open to working with anyone, but am most well equipped to help those dealing with depression, anxiety, low self esteem, addictions, compulsions, issues related to sexual/gender identity, family or relationship challenges, as well as anyone struggling to understand their place (or find joy in) life/society.I have a particular background, and you may have different ideas, preferences, or outlooks. If these differences may impact therapy (if you want to pursue therapy in a certain way, for instance), it's best for us to discuss these so that we understand each other. I welcome these discussions, as trust, honesty, and openness (from both of us) is crucial for success.
