US Based Lead Principal Solutions Architect to design a digital transformation solution for a 230 billion dollar global corporations. As a solutions architect, I pulled from my years of experience building enterprise infrastructure solutions and applying it into developing cloud architecture solutions. Using my skills sets acquired over the years of Information Technology, I assembled a team of resources and started to bring in development staff to implement this through the organization. Due to my efforts, TFS in one year had grown to be the primary repository and used by 98 percent of our development staff as the central code repository. Set up a process to simplify security and software licenses and reduce the complexity of TFS security model, allowing me to focus on growing the environment. Also, put together a migration plan to move all of TFS into the (Azure MS Cloud) by the end of 2020.

Provided support and administration for all 120 HP and VM servers in our data center, along with servers spread throughout the plant. Completed a server consolidation project where 120 physical servers were migrated to 14 servers using VMWare and by moving applications off to other servers. This was a 6 month project where I was responsible to map all process and services, prepare project and costing data, and present the project proposal to the CIO of US Steel. Once implemented, this project helped US Steel realize significant cost savings in multiple data centers. My duties included: • Administer Active Directory for Fairfield Works in Fairfield AL and interconnects with other US Steel sites• Provide enterprise wide backups of all servers using VERITAS and HP tape libraries • Administrator of private cloud VMWare infrastructure• Spec out servers and infrastructure requirements for all new IT projects • Provide remediation support for system audits• Troubleshoot multiple HP server hardware platforms as required• Provide disaster recovery of all plant server systems• Implement and support of all NAS and SAN devices• Provide Tier 3 support for the other server administrators within US Steel

As a Field Coordinator, my job duties included coordinating 15 “Service Provider Groups” in the newly formed Infrastructure Group, as well as three process area groups. In the role as the Field Coordinator, I assisted in moving the Communication Department into a new matrix organization. My duties included planning and working with capital projects, and other budget activities, managing project deliverables, customer support, and dealing with personnel issues. I was also responsible for recruiting and hiring staff, developing work plans, writing business requirements, delegating work assignments, and writing procedures & policies for our department.

Managed a team of 15 IT professionals in a growing IT environment with 1000 PC’s on the business network and over 900 PC’s on the manufacturing floor. I was responsible for managing the IT equipment budget for expenses totaling over $1.4 million per year and an annual capital budget with projects totaling $1.2 million for network and security upgrades. I worked with other managers in the local IT departments to plan and implement various projects at the Fairfield location. I cut costs by implementing desktop management software and set software standards across the organization. Under my leadership, the communication department at Fairfield was one of the top departments within US Steel, leading the way in disaster recovery and desktop management efficiency. I was able to leverage this success to benefit US Steel by meeting with my peers all across the company, sharing process improvement ideas, and creating manageable standards.

Moved into a more strategic role for US Steel where I actively managed a staff of five IT professionals and 3 IT vendors in the design and implementation of various IT projects at facilities across the Fairfield Works plant. Major projects during this time included server implementations of Windows 2000, Intel LANDesk, Wise Package Studio, Windows Scripting host, and a 5 node Citrix server cluster.

Managed US Steels growing 1000 node LAN & WAN. Responsible for major project management, from design through implementation. Centrally managed the internal network. Maintain 10 NT servers and 4 Oracle servers running on a Windows NT 4.0 platform. Perform such tasks as security configuration, created the Active Directory for Fairfield Works, and setup domains and trusts. Create/delete accounts and shares, FTP downloads, file restoration, drive space monitoring, server and network optimization. Manage company software distribution to the desktop. Provided PC client connectivity to IBM mainframe, Novell NetWare servers and corporate Oracle databases at several sites across the U.S.

Provided hardware and network solutions for small to medium-sized firms throughout Alabama and surrounding area for a regional computer consulting firm. Designed and built solutions using computers, printers, local and wide area networks.
