As a junior studying Computer Engineering at Stony Brook University, I’ve been driven by a lifelong curiosity about how things work. Growing up on Long Island, I was always the kid who would never be content with the answer "it just works" to my question: "why?" I could never just accept that something works. I need to understand how things work at their core. This early fascination took on a new dimension in high school when I started experimenting with beginner embedded devices like Arduino, which sparked my passion for embedded systems and hardware engineering. In fact, I ended up spending most of my summer that year just playing around with the Arduino. The furthest I got was creating a makeshift night light, which wasn't really that complicated, but it felt like I'd finally made something useful after hours of understanding how the hardware worked.At Stony Brook, I’ve deeply engaged with the principles of embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware design, eagerly pursuing both academic and practical experiences. My projects have spanned STM32F4xx, AVR128DB48, and Arduino microcontrollers, supported by coursework in Computer Architecture and Digital Design using VHDL and OrCAD. Currently, I’m focused on undergraduate research where I’m designing a custom systolic array architecture, which I could not be more grateful for. This work aims to use a CNN implemented in hardware to accelerate our selected FPGA, which will hopefully withstand high-radiation conditions for preparation of going into outer space.This research complements my hands-on experience as an embedded software engineer intern, where I’ve addressed issues with BSPs across RTOS platforms like Linux and VxWorks, and improved customer satisfaction through automation. Additionally, I’ve served as a TA for an introductory C programming class, driven by my commitment to help others understand the language many struggle with, but I’m incredibly passionate about. I also plan to TA for my VHDL class to further give back to the community that truly inspires me.If I'm not tinkering with electronics, I'm likely working out, reading a book, spending time with friends, and/or playing video games.I’m excited to connect with professionals in the embedded systems, firmware, or hardware fields and explore how my skills and enthusiasm can contribute to your team.
