Participated in the litigation of a large-scale insurance recovery and coverage action for a publicly traded manufacturing company where multiple insurers had issued general liability insurance policies without asbestos exclusions to the company, but then refused to defend it against thousands of underlying asbestos-related lawsuits. Instrumental in pursuing insurance coverage for an aggregate quarry company involving multiple pollution legal liability policies where the insurer had refused to defend its policyholder against underlying environmental contamination claims alleging bodily injury and property damage. Regularly defends clients in the chemical and manufacturing industries against personal injury and premises liability claims filed by third parties and has been able to favorably dispose of several of these matters on summary judgment.Negotiated and drafted contracts on behalf of a multi-national chemical manufacturing corporation, including contracts with client’s suppliers, customers, and vendors. Assisted in the revision of current contracts to account for previously unforeseen market changes and to hedge against newly evolving risks. Worked on a series of transactions for a privately held asset manager focused on credit and private equity investments. Participated in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing various transaction documents, including prospectuses and other offering documents and memoranda, credit agreements, guaranties, security and pledge agreements, subordination agreements, confidentiality agreements and legal opinions.Handled matters in state and federal courts in Illinois, New York, California, Florida, and Texas and has also appeared before various state agencies and regulatory bodies.
