Michael has over 10 years of industry experience with expertise in healthcare quality and operations. Michael began his career as a staff nurse, working in critical care service lines at various D.C.-area hospitals. During his bedside career, Michael founded the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP), and implemented a central line process improvement workflow that reduced central-line bloodstream infections by 90% from Q1 to Q4 of the same operating year. Michael’s penchant for healthcare quality landed him additional opportunities to incorporate Lean Six Sigma principles in reducing ICU delirium by noise filtration and task consolidation, and improving the patient’s inpatient surgical lifecycle by enhancing the collaboration and work between clinical service lines.With his added passion for technology, Michael made the pivot into medical devices as a Clinical Educator with GE Healthcare. He provided training to over 20 national health systems, developing best-in-class education and methodologies to clinicians. He supported commercial teams as a clinical subject matter expertise, winning multimillion dollar net new deals and maintaining evergreen contracts.Through his work with Best Buy Health, Michael implemented hospital-at-home and chronic care management programs using virtual care platforms. His experience as a healthcare quality and operations professional positioned him as a leader in designing solutions and processes for clients wanting to implement a remote patient monitoring program. Because of his commercial experience in supporting sales, Michael also led meetings with prospects and helped to win over 25% of the company’s book of business in 2022.Currently, Michael is an Implementation Project Manager at Transcarent and Director of Nursing for Nurturing Angels Home Care. At Transcarent, Michael is in a client-facing role to implement products and solutions to self-insured employers, working in a highly cross-functional role that involves teams from finance, marketing, support services, and technical teams. At Nurturing Angels, Michael is an operational leader developing and managing operations of clinical and non-clinical support service lines. He also collaborates with organizational executives on business development and commercial strategy, speaking at numerous events hosted by organizations leading in the elderly care space.In June 2024, MIchael received the distinguished honor of being the first cohort in the world to receive the Certified Professional in Digital Health Transformation Strategy honor from HIMSS.
