Analyzed MRP for production buying and was considered a "superuser" of the IT system, purchasing all production materials for radiator production (copper and brass foil, metal fabrications, fans, motors, etc) as well as all support materials. Implemented VMI programs for fasteners, welding supplies, shop supplies, and packaging supplies. Was also active in buying product from mainland China.

Purchased fasteners for distribution; my responsibility was for a customer that makes outboard motors. Fasteners were mainly stainless steel - both standards and specials - and many included plating and patching. 60% of this purchasing was done from domestic suppliers, while the other 40% was purchased from Taiwan, China, India and Germany.

Worked this entire period as a contract employee from Argus Technical Services. Utilized MRP to purchase machined and fabricated parts, castings, commercial products and fasteners to support manufacturing for the segment of the company that builds farm equipment. Assisted in the on-going process to add about 250 fasteners to their existing Class C stocking program.

Was sole buyer for a steel fabricator, buying steel (including cold reduced plate for lasers), cutting supplies and abrasives, welding supplies, fasteners, pipe and fittings and all MRO supplies.

Was the raw materials buyer, bought electrical components, managed the class "C" VMI contract and administered all of the contracts for maintenance on the office and manufacturing equipment. I was the lead of a cross-functional team that instituted policies for material flow from the time of requisition to delivery to the appropriate shop foreman. When this company merged with another, I actively participated in vendor selection and consolidation.
