The purpose of Labs is to find new and innovative revenue streams for the future of the company by creating and testing various digital services and products. Due to the broad spectrum of concepts that might come out from a place like Labs I've gotten the chance to work with a lot of new and exciting stuff, and one of our job descriptions is to always test the latest tech on the market.Some of the technologies that I work with on a daily basis include- Building backend systems and APIs (Python/Flask/Django, C#/.Net Core, MongoDB, SQL)- Building native iOS and Android applications (Swift/Java/Kotlin)- Collecting data, training and applying Machine Learning models to various products and services (Python/Tensorflow/Keras/CoreML)- Running deep learning vision models on Raspberry Pi's

I was mostly responsible for the app-development process where my focus was on developing an app for Android and iOS called LoopMe. As a part of a small startup together with a cross-functional team I also helped out in the backend / API / Database development, mainly in Node.js and MongoDB. Did my Master’s thesis at the Active Safety Group at Volvo Cars where we Applied Machine Learning Techniques to the area of Computer Vision. The aim of the thesis was to segment and classify objects like cars, pedestrians, bicyclists etc in a point cloud obtained from a LIDAR. Classification algorithms that I worked with: Feed Forward Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines, Random Forests and K-Nearest Neighbors. The implementations where written in C++.
