Founded my own logistics & tourism company in early 2015 and started operations in April that year with a R50 000 loan. The company grew exponentially over 7 years to an annual turnover of R7.2 million and 12 staff.African Dawn Safaris focused on the transportation and offering of tourism services to high-end and middle classed guests. BUCO stores is a chain of hardware stores acrossSouth Africa, and supplies building supplies directly to construction companiesas well as to DIY individuals and handymen. At BUCO I held the position of Stock Control Manager and was responsible for ensuring minimal shrinkage, stock management and stock take of two stores namely BUCO Hoedspruit and a smaller store BUCO Acorhnhoek.I managed a small team of five between the two stores. My team and I achieved great success based on our Key Performance Indexes and reduced the shrinkage by roughly R4 million in our first year. This figure was roughly 2.5% of our annual turnover. This was achieved by implementing a new more “hands on” approach and monitoring stock daily.

- Responsible for 12 stores throughout Gauteng.- Monitoring the interactions of staff with in-store customers.- Measuring effectiveness of these interactions.- Liaising, sales, future events and new proposals and concepts with senior executives.

- Daily analysis of category to ensure the target turnover growths and waste budgets are met.- Forecasting future promotion activity using previous promotional sales to ensure the correct stock is obtained for the duration of the Promotion- Leasing with the Head of Category , to constantly Develop strategic Solutions and efficiency within the category so that the agreed KPI'S are met.- Drive key KPI’s to Stock levels, Waste, Strike rates to Store, Vendor order fill, Forecast Accuracy and availability at Distribution and Store level- Give required feedback to the (Lead category planner, HOC, or HOD ) if required on all issues within the department.- Attend to all Store Queries with regards to the Category being managed- Adjusting forecast on all Category articles weekly to ensure the forecast is as accurate as possible -- Procuring stock from the relevant vendors should the need arise- Continuously maintaining and communicating documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems - Liaising with Category and Support teams.- Managing, planning teams with regards to deadlines, efficiency and productivity- Conducting weekly update meetings within the category to discuss all issues, and weekly updates(Promotions ,KPI’s ETC:))- Integrate with Co-ordinator at store level with store issues regarding to relevant category.
