Michael is the founding President and CEO of Growth Opportunity Partners (Growth Opps), a Small Business advisory, investment, and lending community financial institution. For small businesses/middle market companies, Growth Opps provides capital, management consulting, and advisory services to support the growth of companies and the development of management teams. Growth Opps has a particular focus on impact in low and moderate-income communities.Michael brings a wealth of knowledge to Growth Opps to include the areas of healthcare consulting, tax, wealth management, small business/commercial, finance, credit, and risk management, municipal and non-profit finance, and strategic planning. Prior to creating Growth Opps, Michael worked for established and respected leaders in the financial services industry including KPMG, Morgan Stanley, National City Bank and KeyBank.Michael’s past Board leadership includes, Chairman of the Boards of Our Lady of the Wayside and The Greater Cleveland Film Commission, Board Member for The American Red Cross, and Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (Corporate Secretary). Michael currently serves in various Board capacities: Cleveland State University Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs Visiting Committee, Cleveland State University Foundation, Destination Cleveland, Cleveland/Cuyahoga County Workforce Development, Karamu House (Vice Chair), College Now, and Growth Opportunity Partners (Growth Opps). Michael’s corporate Board responsibilities include shaping strategy and governance as trustee for Westfield Bank, a $1.7B full-service bank and financial institution located in Westfield, Ohio. Michael also serves on the ALCO and Board Loan Committees for the bank. In addition, Michael serves on the corporate Boards of NRP Group, a national commercial real estate developer, builder, and property management company, and Taylor Oswald Insurance. Michael earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Ashland University in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and a minor in Spanish. Michael later obtained several licenses with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Married for nearly 25 years, Michael, enjoys spending time with his wife and children, in addition to travel and golf.
