Nearly 20 years of my professional life has been in higher education. After spending 5 years as a software developer, I migrated to a career path with Carrington College that took me through roughly 11 different job titles. I was lucky enough to serve in a variety of functions for the college, from project management to IT support to campus instructor and more. One of the key roles was as the Director of Real Estate Planning which focused on helping define geographic growth strategies, develop new facility standards, and optimize the institution’s real estate portfolio. During this time I also created and oversaw the institution’s Project Management Office which was responsible for ensuring successful execution of the annual operating plan. From there I transitioned to executive leadership for the Spokane campus and then to the role of Regional Director. After 18 years with Carrington College I made the very difficult decision to change my career direction and join Secured Investment Corp in Coeur d'Alene, ID as the Director of Operations. From there I quickly moved into the Chief Operations Officer role with oversight of sales, technology, client relations, and general operations of a multi-million dollar organization and not only helped navigate through the challenges of a pandemic, but drove record outcomes for the organization through deliberate innovation.
