Mr. Johanson has over 28 years of progressive experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry. His career spans numerous positions as an engineer, engineering manager, project manager, program manager, and corporate executive inclusive of business development and P&L responsibility on large aerospace programs. He has a broad base of experience having previously worked for companies such as McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, Northrop Grumman and several specialized high tech small businesses in support of NASA Centers and initiatives at the Marshall Spaceflight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio as well as several others. Mr. Johanson’s experience includes managing the development of complex spaceflight systems through all phases of the system life cycle, from concept design through deployment and operation. He has played important roles in a wide variety of highly successful spaceflight programs for NASA and the DOD that encompass ground test facilities, launch vehicles, satellites, and payloads for the Space Shuttle, MIR and the International Space Station (ISS). Most recently, Mr. Johanson managed the design, development and current operations of the ISS Fluids and Combustion Facility, numerous microgravity science experiments and the NASA GRC Telescience Support Center (TSC) development and operations. Mr. Johanson currently is Senior Vice President Corporate Business Development & Strategic Planning at Voyager Space Exploration Systems (former ZIN Technologies, Inc.).

Senior Engineer Spacelab Engineering And AnalysisMcdonnell Douglas Aerospace Feb 1989 - Feb 1995Mr. Johanson supported eight highly successful Spacelab laboratory space shuttle missions including serving as Integration/Thermal/Fluid Engineering Lead for the First International Microgravity Laboratory, the First United States Microgravity Laboratory and the first Shuttle/Mir (SL-M) joint docking mission to the Russian Space Station. As part of SL-M responsibilities, Mr. Johanson supported the Orbiter Docking System development team with responsibilities for active and passive thermal control and environmental compatibility between Spacelab, MIR and Orbiter. Responsibilities included hardware development efforts in support of ongoing Shuttle, Spacelab, and SPACEHAB programs.
