Flight Test Engineer
US Navy Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) IPT Lead Flight Test Engineer and Test Coordinator; responsibilities included test planning, developing instrumentation requirements, resource coordination, preparation of detailed test matrices and flight cards, as well as real-time flight test monitoring, data analysis, report writing and aircrew training. Acted as the Navy GPWS IPT primary test POC for all fixed and rotary-wing platforms interfacing with system and program contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of F/A-18A/B/C/D/E/F, EA-18G, EA-6B, E-2D, MH-60 R/S, AV-8B, T-45, AH/UH-1, CH-35K and VH-60N aircraft for both GPWS and Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS) programs. Testing covered a wide range of flight profiles including simulated weapons deliveries, weapon separation, evasive maneuvers, carrier suitability, and ACM. Also responsible for the development and execution of highly specialized test techniques and monitoring procedures required for the effective and safe testing of a critical military safety system. Selected to present is unique test philosophies at the Royal Aeronautical Society’s International Flight test Conference in London, England. Conducted and monitored hundreds of test events at NAWCAD Patuxent River Real-Time Telemetry Processing Station (RTPS), Manned Flight Simulator (MFS), and the NAWCWD China Lake Range Control Center (RCC).
