• Dupont Country Club is a 72 hole facility that includes 19 Har-tru tennis courts, Clubhouse, Mansion house, Driving range, and two practice facilities.• Primary responsibilities are to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, replace and add to the existing irrigation system of over 1700 irrigation heads and two pump stations.• Established in 1930s, Dupont is a mix of steel pipe, pvc pipe, poly pipe, yellow mine pipe, 10 different types of irrigation heads, and a variety of valves. The aging system is in constant demand for repair and upgrade. • Other duties include pump station repair, computer repair, light masonry, construction, electrical, and plumbing. • Dupont being a leader in safety, it is important to conduct each repair in a timely and safe manner for myself, the members, and other workers. • A supervisory role is sometimes needed when other workers or outside contractors are involved, but most jobs are done by me.• Large accomplishments include replacing the Nemours 18 hole course’s Buckner brass impact heads with Toro rotors, installing 11 new Toro Osmac Controllers, replacing the Hunter steel cabinets. I have also installed 18 greens with new pipe and sprinklers that were quick coupler valve only greens.

Took over irrigation responsibilities including installation, repairs and upgrades. • Duties of Irrigation Specialist included preventative and routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, and installation of: complete sprinkler system (golf course, landscape, greenhouse, drip), it’s pipes, central computer, pump-stations, meters, chemical injection systems, wet wells, blow outs, hydrants, pond fills, and network satellites, lightning detection systems, and alarm systems. • Being in a wetlands, other duties included maintaining a fleet of 3 and 4 inch trash pumps, rental of larger pumps and hoses, distribution and operation of pumps. Installation of sumps, dewatering wells, extensive drainage, burm relocating and shaping, and creek vain installation• Maintain all tree trimming duties, including flood damage and debris cleanup, beautification, and plantings. Safe operation of chainsaws, pruners, chippers, and stump grinder was required.

• The Davis Companies gave me an opportunity to recruit temporary labor for a variety of skill levels from warehouse to engineering. I also had opportunities to staff permanent positions through advertising and headhunting. I learned the employment laws of Delaware in the process. I found my niche in staffing skilled labor jobs such as chemical operators, welders, forklift operators, and truck drivers. In the second half of my employment I focused on sales and acquired 14 new companies in an 8 month span, while maintaining my recruiting responsibilities and employing over 80 people.
