At Acacia, I developed our novel power analysis software and applied it to industrial, utility, and commercial systems:• Designed, developed, tested, and validated features for Acacia's software products using Visual Studio C++ and Git. All releases were required to be absolutely and eternally stable, combine both traditional and novel methods of interpreting three-phase electromechanical data, and have a strong emphasis on processing speed.• Specified, sourced, assembled, and maintained customized hardware for each software application.• Managed development projects.• Traveled, often alone, to sites throughout North America to install and setup our analysis equipment.• Diagnosed any immediate issues found on site.• Ensured the ongoing quality of data being collected by our instruments.• Compiled and reported preliminary results of new installations to the client, often within a day or two of the install.• Analyzed collected data using our own software.• Built models and assisted with simulations using custom-built software or third-party applications (e.g., EasyPower).• Helped determine the root cause of technical issues by combining interpretation of data with simulation results.• Reported clear solutions to the client in a comprehensive report.• Created product documentation.• Presented and demonstrated Acacia's analysis products.

• Performed a detailed safety analysis of a safety-critical device that serves as a primary source of sensor data in a system that controls the movement of a driverless train.• Contributed to analysis of the software architecture of a train control system, including the use of specialized algorithms that depend upon formal mathematics.• Assisted in the safety analysis of real-time embedded software systems used in modern automotive systems, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).• Served as the project manager for an R&D project on the use of machine learning in the development of safety-critical systems.

• Assisted with developing software to analyze complex systems for safety and security vulnerabilities.• Undertook research involving cyber security issues with autonomous vehicles.

Between my first and second years of engineering I framed houses while adhering to the BC Building Code.

Used my audio experience to construct, deconstruct, host, and assist with troubleshooting of large audio-visual setups for professional conventions and shows.

Organized, mixed, mastered, and distributed recordings from local bands coming through the studio. This began my interest in electrical engineering.

Killed some time between travels with a local window washing company.

To assist with a temporary human resources shortage, I managed a team of about 60 data collectors and ensured quality of traffic engineering data.

In an effort to stay active and support myself through my first degree, I opted for hard labour in the summer months.
