Responsibilities include Dickinson tech service engineers and process optimization engineers for Dickinson and Mandan

Supervisor for large project engineers and process optimization engineers. Responsible for developing and executing projects at the Mandan Refinery and Dickinson Renewable Diesel Plant.

Lead process engineer for the new Technip hydrogen plant for the Dickinson Renewable Diesel Project with special emphasis in process inspections, catalyst loading, startup plans, procedures, and commissioning/startup of the unit.

In 2Q2019, continued with the cyclic catalytic reforming unit and then transitioned to the startup process engineer for the new Axens Prime G+ unit.

Initially responsible for Crude and FCC units. Then transitioned to hydrotreaters and cyclic catalytic reformer units.

Manager of the Engineering Department. This includes Process, Mechanical and Civil, Control Systems, E&I, Reliability, Project Management, and the Chem Lab. The DGC Engineering Department is a full scoping, design, project management, operational support, and reliability improvement group containing some 80 professionals. Retained revenue generation and technology evaluation duties.

Supervisor for all Process Engineers and manager of Chem Lab. Continued with past process engineering duties while adding laboratory responsibilities. Also responsible for revenue generation projects and evaluating novel technologies and economics for such projects as gas-to-liquids, methanol-to-gasoline, alternative fertilizer production, etc.

Supervisor for South Plant Process Engineers. Responsible for process engineering related activities supporting the plant, including project initiation, e.g. clean cooling water transition, evaluation of alternative chemical production, alternative utilization of additional products, etc.

Process Engineer for the Rectisol CO2 and Sulfur removal unit.

While still working for FHR, my final job assignment was Senior Process Engineer in the FCC unit. I was responsible for training and mentoring the FCC Operations Engineer, working on turnaround project scoping, EPA NOx limit evaluation, catalyst evalution and change strategies, etc.

I started at Flint Hills Resources, Pine Bend, as an Operations Engineer in the Hydrogen Plants (3 hydrogen plants, 1 old style with Benfield solution and 2 PSA plants) and Steam System. I then became a start-up engineer for ULSD hydrogen plant project in 2005-2006. Finally, I was assigned the Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit.

Process Engineer for the ammonia plant and Rectisol, Methanation, and Gas Compression Units. Involved in unit optimization, catalyst life management and replacement, process design, turnaround technical support, etc.
