I have spent the last 12 years in the customer service field in higher education at the University of Toledo and now I have returned to Purchasing and Supply Chain but in higher education at the University of Toledo overseeing Mail Services, Main Campus Receiving, and repurposing Surplus Property. Prior to UT, I spent many years in manufacturing working for small to mid-sized family-owned companies. These companies served a variety of industries including automotive, appliance, off-road vehicles, vending equipment, commercial playground equipment, modular home construction, and home building components. I have managed multiple plants with over 300 employees and departments of only four. I helped a small company through a successful turnaround situation and was a co-project leader in an ERP installation. I have implemented a lean, kanban system that saved thousands of dollars and put a facility back to on-time deliveries. However, my passion is for teaching and sharing these experiences in the classroom with the next generation of business leaders.Specialties: APICS certified professional; operations and supply chain management including purchasing, materials management, scheduling, production control, inventory control, customer service, shipping/receiving, and transportation. I also have many years of teaching experience in continuing education settings with adult learners and as a part-time college professor of both undergraduate and graduate level students.
