I've worked at Eastern Mountain Sports for over five years, and I'm an avid cyclist and climber. My product knowledge in the company is unparalleled, and I have had managers call from other stores to ask me technical questions. I've been a supervising manager at the Upper West Side location for more than a year, and was in charge of store openings and closings, employee education and motivation, daily schedule management, and asset protection. I was also in charge of contacting reps for the brands we carried to increase product knowledge in my store, both for me and my coworkers. In working with the community, I've done clinics with New York City Cycling Club to educate new cyclists on bicycle maintenance, buying a new bicycle, and riding safely. I have facilitated deals with local businesses to draw in more customers. I promoted my store whenever I visited one of the climbing gyms in the city, or out in the Mohonk Preserve climbing in the Shawangunks.
