As the Construction Inventory Specialist for Hotwire Communications, I assist the warehouse operation with implementing vital data capturing procedures.

The Kansas Marine Co. is a unique division that Services the worlds best cruise lines with their food and hotel needs, whether it is fresh, frozen, or just a game of cards. We have a 110,000 sq. ft. facility in Miami to service all the ports of call on the East coast, and to ship containers throughout the world to meet the ships at their exotic Ports of Call.On the West Coast we have a facility in Los Angeles to service the ports in Southern California, and a seasonal operation in Washington State to service the ships in Seattle and Vancouver during the summer Alaskan cruise season. Manage 15-30 warehouse associates on a daily basis in the outbound/shipping department.Maintain a shift productivity of 120% - 150% inclusive. Responsible for planning the shift and allocating jobs throughout the shift in a productive manner.Practice team productivity and process improvement on a daily basis.Responsible for shipping out anywhere from 50,000 - 70,000 cases per shift depending on time of the year to the correct store.Responsible for tracking the time and labor of my associates on a daily basis.Responsible for maintaining the trailers across 36 dock doors used in the outbound operation, and practicing yard management for the D.C.

Started my career in logistics here as a warehousing associate in the inventory/QC department. Since the product had to stay fresh and frozen the packaged seafood was kept in a -15 degree climate controlled warehouse, forcing me to spend most of the shift in freezing temperatures. With my time at Beaver Street Fisheries I quickly learned the proper techniques to handle freight properly so that it is always traceable in the warehouse management system. I was also with the company during their implementation of Red Prairie Warehouse Management System. That being said, I got to learn how to use the software and see how everything within the system is connected to the locations in the D.C. and the RFID scanners. I was also one of the most productive associates at Beaver Street Fisheries during my time there, which taught me the importance of keeping the associates productive throughout the entirety of the shift. It is important to make sure that you are getting what you pay for and beyond when it comes to the labor costs of the warehouse associates.
