I’m a senior media executive with 20+ years of experience in public relations. My corporate, B2B, educational, philanthropic and arts-related clients have included Reader’s Digest, the Wallace-Reader’s Digest Funds, Johnson & Johnson, 3M, the Salvadori Foundation and many emerging technology companies, such as Data Conversion Laboratory. For Reader’s Digest, I spent 10 years heading national and local publicity for the Reader’s Digest American Heroes in Education Awards. I also did national publicity for Johnson & Johnson’s Head Start-Johnson & Johnson Management Training Program, which provided MBA-style training to Head Start managers. For 3M, I helped publicize an on-the-job apprentice/training program for students interested in becoming tool-and-die makers. It led to full-time employment for many of those students. Working in conjunction with Stanton Public Relations, I publicized the groundbreaking work of Edward R. Flynn, who perfected a way to diagnose certain strains of breast cancer with no radiation, no mammogram, 100 percent accuracy, up to three years earlier than a mammogram. Flynn’s technology was featured in The Wall Street Journal and Forbes, and is now used by the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The Pinkerton Foundation has helped at-risk children and youth in New York, but had never received media attention. As a result of my efforts, the Pinkerton Foundation was featured in a New York Times story, in the Huffington Post and on NY1 News. The MET Schools work with children and youth on the autism scale. They staged their own “Summer Olympics” that was covered in The New York Times, and their groundbreaking work in sex education was featured in ABC News Online. The Salvadori Center helps promote STEM education for at-risk youth in New York City. I arranged coverage in The Huffington Post and NY1 News. I have a passion for using media to help others.
