Michael has an abiding interest in the links between food and human connections and the quality of relationships fostered over mealtimes. In 2014 he founded “Harvest Moon,” an evening of good food, music and community hosted at his 7K Panorama Ranch. This annual event raises awareness and funds for Community Food Centres Canada. Michael is currently a board member of Shawnigan Lake School, a Calgary Reads Champion, and is a past board member of the Leighton Art Centre, Social Venture Partners and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks.
