NTVB Media reaches and influences viewing choices of more than 20,000,000 (twenty million) entertainment guidance seekers daily. We do this with our company owned magazines TV GUIDE, TV Weekly, ReMIND, Channel Guide, VIEW!, OnDISH, the TV Insider website, various widgets and apps. Also through exclusive print and digital editorial features shared with more than 350 Newspaper, Cable and Satellite company partners. I lead the formation, development and expansion of those media company Editorial, Marketing and Distribution partnerships with a focus on mutual paid circulation, site traffic, advertising and revenue growth. This is accomplished using aggressive consumer-focused campaigns utilizing newspapers, network and cable television, radio, direct mail, email, online, outdoor, bill stuffers, point of purchase signage, etc.

Lead successful consolidation of National and Regional ad sales departments for eight Gannett owned, Wisconsin based newspapers into one central department. Program was replicated throughout other Gannett newspaper clusters around the country. Presented details of program at Inland Press Association Publishers conference in early 2000. Directed all sales / contract negotiation and ad placements for Key (national and major) advertisers. Grew revenues by 417.3%, $997,000 to $5,157,386.47 in first full year. Worked with Governor Thompson and Governor Bush on his first Presidential campaign (media team) and on re-election campaign for Governor Scott McCallum and was appointed to Judicial commission. Left for partnership opportunity with NTVB Media.

As division President lead the launch and growth of TV Data’s new TV magazine advertising sales program (formerly TV Publication Services). In just over 18 months (post-sale employment period) successfully grew business unit more than 240% from acquisition level with 38 TVPS newspaper partnerships to 131 TV Data Advertising Network partnerships throughout the US and Canada. Left to begin clock on two year non-compete and for amazing opportunity with group of newspapers in Wisconsin.

Created, launched, developed and owned TV Publication Services, a TV magazine marketing and ad sales company working with newspapers across the US. Within two years of launching, TVPS was completely out of debt (start up loans) had 38 newspaper partners and was generating more than $1,000,000 in annual revenue with a net profit margin of more than 40%. Generated more than $5,000,000 in annual ad sales revenue for newspaper partners in first year alone. Sold TVPS to TV Data, the world’s largest TV listings company (at time of sale) serving thousands of clients in more than 30 countries. Hired as President of TV Data Advertising Network and paid a large up-front fee to not compete with TV Data beginning after transition leadership role ended. Could not work for, own, invest in or consult for any TV magazine ad sales company in the US, Canada or Mexico for two years. Also negotiated positions with TV Data for all TVPS employees as part of the acquisition deal.

Acted as internal Publisher for weekly community newspapers Published by the Portland Newspapers in Portland, Maine. Also was responsible for growth and maintenance of Portland's TV magazine content, marketing and ad revenues. Worked with / on election campaigns (media) for Governor McKernan, Congresswoman / US Senator Olympia Snowe, Congressman Jim Longley, Senator / Defense Secretary William Cohen and Congressional hopeful Ross Connelly. Left to launch my own TV magazine consultancy and Ad sales business.

Developed and implemented on-site training, sales and marketing programs for TV magazines at more than 100 newspapers throughout the United States. Consistently ranked as highest production sales person throughout industry. Promoted to Regional Sales Director within 18 months of joining Scripps Howard (at 23 was youngest sales Director appointed in Scripps history).
