Lingjun Li Research Lab

I previously worked with my mentor, Gaoyuan Lu, on identifying novel D-Amino Acid containing peptides (DAACP) in lobster and crab nervous systems through mass spectrometry. I assisted with lobster dissection and nervous system extraction. I also worked with Python to develop ways of simple MS2 analysis for isomerazion location detection.Currently, I work with the Synapt G2 machine to analyze and enhance the drift time difference of peptide enantiomers through the use of several crown ether complexes. These times are analyzed through the dual use of ion mobility measurements to identify differences in drift time.

I worked with the local government to clear the construction of a local mission box, a place of 24/7 access to food to treat the extreme and growing issue of food insecurity. Now that it's been established, my role has shifted to Financial Officer, where I set up and manage our bank account; my duty includes collecting donations, distributing funds for grocery runs, and working with university funding.

As the previous fundraising lead at the student-run club at UW-Madison. For this role, I set and educate members on our goals and assist in reaching them through personal fundraising. I plan all team-wide events throughout the school year with other exec members. Training for this consisted of a weekend institute in D.C. where we met with leads from the nation and learned about our mission and goals for the upcoming year. I'm excited to be taking on the role of team lead next fall!
