About Michael Kenney
I am the Building Decarbonization Manager at Western Resource Advocates. At WRA, I am working on efforts across the Mountain West to reduce emissions from buildings using energy efficiency, electrification, demand response, and other load management activities. Previously I was a Senior Program Manager at the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project. In my role at SWEEP I advocated for greater energy efficiency and decarbonization in utility programs across the Southwest. I was formerly at the California Energy Commission where I wrote, researched, and managed projects related to energy efficiency, building decarbonization, and demand flexibility. My work has helped improve energy efficiency programs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions from buildings, alleviate electric grid constraints, maximize use of renewable resources, and reduce energy burden.
