The name Praktiker continues to be used by former subsidiaries in Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary and Turkey.✔ The company PGB who split from their big mother company METRO GROUP built a new office in Hong Kong and looked for a leader for their artwork department.✔ After 5 years at Conrad Electronic I was ready for the next challenge and I was handpicked for this position and became department head of Own Brand Management (OBM). ✔ My responsibilities were leading a team of 6 coordinators managing artwork vendors for instruction manual creation, packaging and label design and managing centralized print suppliers including pre-press quality control.✔ Our team managed 7 design agencies, 4 technical writing and testing agencies, 2 translation agencies, 1 photo agency and 3 print suppliers.✔ We built our own internal product photo studio to speed up the process to create product photos and reduce costs.👏💲💰 I am most proud to have reduced my 2% yearly budget within 1 year by 60% to 0.8% and lowered the standard lead time by 58% from 60 to 25 days for user manual creation and packaging design.✔ I created design guidelines and quality standards for own brand instruction manuals to reduce claims and speed up the lead time and was responsible to approve product designs according to corporate identity guidelines, including product colours, branding and labelling✔ Based on my experience at Conrad Electronic I built a new Content Management System CMS for standardisation and automation of the massive content including product features, safety instructions and an icon database.

Conrad Electronic serves customers throughout Germany and Europe.✔ I started as a Technical Editor and Writer creating compliant instruction manuals for consumer goods of a leading German electronic retailer Conrad Electronic in 2007.✔ In my first year I self-developed a Content Management System CMS to automate user manuals and packaging feature content as my final university thesis project.✔ My supervisor saw my early passion to lead and optimize processes and promoted me to Assistant Manager in 2009 supervising package and manual creation team with strong involvement in product design, product labelling and branding.✔ My main responsibility was coordinating packaging and manual design projects with external design agencies, suppliers and customers and designing new packaging artworks for limited product editions✔ In 2010 the CMS “Pergamon Knowledge Database” was fully integrated into the work process of internal departments, sourcing, and design agencies to improve product quality and expedite existing workflows between departments. ✔ The system took care of content standardisation, quality control of logos, legal icons, safety instructions and design template XML design.✔ At the end of my journey I supported the development of a new private brand with design guidelines for package and manual creation, product branding, marketing strategy, marketing materials such as brochures, advertising, web design and social media.
