Global business leader, Michael Kercheval, is Board Chair of Project REAP, a commercial real estate diversity engagement organization. Earlier, he served as executive director of the CU Real Estate Center, from 2016 to 2023.Kercheval is past president and CEO of the International Council of Shopping Centers Inc. (ICSC), the world’s largest commercial real estate trade association. Under his leadership, 2000 to 2015, the organization grew from 30,000 to over 70,000 members across more than 100 countries. In the late 1990s, Kercheval, who is fluent in Spanish, was the CEO of Lend Lease Latin American Realty Advisors, the South American subsidiary of the Australian-based global real estate company. Previously, he was a real estate investment banker with Equitable Real Estate.Kercheval earned his BA degree in economics, international affairs and political science, graduating cum laude, from CU-Boulder where he was a Boettcher and Regents Scholar, and member of the President's Leadership Class. He earned a master’s and a doctoral degree (ABD) in economics from Columbia University in New York.
