In 1997, after graduating from the University of Michigan, I joined the family business. Kirschman Furniture was a multi-location furniture store which had been in business for 80 years. Over the next 15 years I helped to grow the company to approximately $100,000,000 in revenue, 13 locations, and over 400 employees. Working my way up from the ground floor in every possible job and capacity, I gained an intimate understanding of every aspect of the business. Ultimately I stepped into the role of President and successfully ran and managed all aspects of our expanding company. That chapter closed in 2010 when I negotiated a successful sale of the company that was a positive gain for our family interests. Later that year, I joined FreeGulliver, a boutique, high service, wealth management, strategic planning, and consulting firm. We "Free Gullivers” (aka “Solve Problems”)! Over almost 10 years, I have worked with over 150 business to help grow their revenue, efficiencies, and profitability. Some of my specialties are:Business Strategic Planning - helping business owners or executive teams develop execution plans for growth, reviewed accounting and budgeting practices to generate additionalprofits, supported recruiting, retention, and human resource practices, andfinally worked as a confidential partner to the owners and executive team tohelp with significant decisions.Employee Benefits Planning - My team acts as an outsourced benefitsdepartment handing negotiations and plan design with service providers,enrollments and education of employees, all employee customer service needsrelated to these offerings, and finally continual reminders of the value andcost savings that the company provides each employee by the offering.Individual Wealth Planning - working with individuals or families todevelop a strategy to meet their long-term wealth needs. The plan includesconsultative meetings to develop goals, reviewing the client's current savingand spending, developing and investment plan, and regular check ins toprovide accountability.Projects - From acquiring and operating a Title InsuranceCompany to integrating the human resource manual of an international anddomestic company after an acquisition, there are few projects that we cannotdevelop an efficient and cost-effective solution too.
