The Transit and Programs Manager manages the regional transit operation and oversee transit operations and programs integral to the City of Kelowna and regional government partners. Develop and support strategies and implement plans and initiatives for continuous improvement of the Kelowna Regional Transit System.Monitor service delivery liaising with BC Transit and their contracted transit operator on day-to-day matters relating to customer service, traffic management, safety and security, and adherence to policy and procedures. Researched, developed, and delivered social marketing-based programs and community events in support of the city's Transportation Demand Management (TDM) objectives. Fostered and maintained relationships with community stakeholders and partner organizations (e.g., UBCO, Okanagan College, Interior Health Authority). Planned local and regional active transportation networks, managed cycling assets and programs including bicycle parking infrastructure and related programs, and oversaw the production of Kelowna's bicycle network map. Planned and managed new transit infrastructure projects and asset renewal and supported infrastructure maintenance programs. Supported and led the development of transit plans including the Transit Future Plan and various local area transit plans to enhance service region-wide.
