After leaving University Michael worked for 6 months as a design engineer with a new company which had been set up to develop a Domestic Heat Pump. He then started his own company Donite Plastics (1981).Initially a GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) company making thier own design of motorcyle fairings & then custom made architectural mouldings, in 1995 they introduced the first custom vacuum forming service to N.Ireland. This is now their main production process.Donite Plastics was incorporated & continued trading as Donite Plastics Ltd in October 2007.Specialties: Michaels primary skills are in design & technical problem solving. Using the latest CAD/CAM technology, their in house 5 axis CNC routers and the largest vacuum forming machine in Ireland, Donite provides a total custom moulding service - from product design to delivery of finished parts.

When I finished my HND they offered me a job developing their new heat pump. I worked here for about 6 months before being laid off. The company closed a short time later.A friend and I took the opertunity to start our own business designing and manufacturing GRP motorcycle fairings. The friends name was (Richard) Donaldson. I was (Michael) Knight. Hence Donite Plastics was born.
