Perform research using resonant ultrasound spectroscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry, and capacitance dilatometry. Create LabVIEW programs for data collection and analysis. Maintain equipment such as a Physical Properties Measurement System (PPMS) and VersaLab system from Quantum Design. Supervise high school, undergraduate, and graduate students working in the lab.

Synthesize and license crystals (typically two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide semiconductor crystals) using chemical vapor transport. Deal directly with current and potential customers to provide information regarding current crystals offered and to determine if we have the ability to synthesize any other crystals they may need.
