Hi, I'm Michael Koenig, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Tucows, the company behind Ting Internet, Tucows Domains, and Wavelo. I got my start in tech playing bass in an 80s punk cover band with a few entrepreneurs and VCs.Early in my career, I had the privilege of being part of the early team contributing to the development of Automattic, a company that has given us widely-recognized platforms like WordPress, WooCommerce, and Tumblr.Subsequently, I took on key roles, including the Chief Revenue Officer of Wavelo, a SaaS business unit of Tucows, and the Chief Operating Officer roles at Sweet and Time Doctor. I led and managed multiple departments in these roles, including G&A, FP&A, Commercial, Product, and Engineering.Beyond my operational roles, I host a podcast, 'Between Two COOs,' providing a platform for Chief Operating Officers from various sectors to share their insights and experiences. Past guests have included leaders from LVMH, Vodafone, Symantec, Lyft, Lime, Automattic, Grafana Labs, Handshake, True Ventures, and Techstars, to name just a few. You can find the podcast at betweentwocoos.com.Outside my executive and podcasting duties, I am an active board member, advisor, and investor. Recent investments include Flowcarbon (a16z), Ordo (Accel), Peoplebox.ai (Nexus Venture Partners), and Hiptrain (acquired by Forme, NASDAQ: TRNR). I also serve on the Board of Trustees for Daycroft Schools in Ann Arbor, MI, am a mentor within the Techstars network, and still play the bass.I'd be happy to hear from you if you have any questions or ideas for collaboration and check out Between Two COO's. Thanks for getting to know a bit about me.
