Senior 1St Assistant Engineer
-Work intimately with builders, designers, and project engineers through the final building as well as commissioning stages of the newly constructed ship to perform closeout functions as well as update ship maintenance records.-Conduct annual Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) trials.-Identifies, delegates, and ensures the safe execution of all operations and maintenance related to propulsion of the six 5000 kW Thrustmaster azimuth thrusters, power generation by the eight HiMSEN diesel generators totaling 45 MW, and hotel equipment onboard the ship with a department of 16 crew members-Develop then provide daily quality assurance of routine and on-demand deliverables.-Interface with the USCG and class societies regarding compliance with rules and regulations.-Understand – and pass on - company and industry standards, policies, and procedures.-Responsible for ordering supplies and spare parts for all machinery via the Orion inventory management system-Apply knowledge of the principles, practices, and theories of engineering fundamentals to develop work plans as well as provide training to junior department members.
