I currently educate and inform visitors to the museum of the creation of the world's first electronic digital computer Colossus During World War II. Also the history of World War II code breaking of the Lorenz cipher machine. This machine was used to send high-grade intelligence and battle plans from the very top of the Nazi command to the generals in the field.

Michael Kushner is a retired senior manager for (Thorn EMI electronics). He is now an author and lecturer of World War II Signals Intelligence and guides at The Imperial War Museum Churchill War Rooms, London, and at Bletchley Park, the British Government's World War II Ultra top secret code breaking establishment, known as “Station X”.Michael has had a lifetime interest in radio communications, and was a member of the Radio Society of Great Britain as a shortwave listener. He also has an interest in military communications of British secret intelligence during World War II.When the secrets of Bletchley Park were released by the Government in the early 1980s it was about to be demolished and sold by its owners, British Telecom to become a supermarket depot. During the 1990s the Bletchley Park Trust was formed to save this historic site for future generations as a museum. Living locally Michael became involved at an early stage and has now been a guide and lecturer at Bletchley Park since 2008. He currently lectures on World War II signals intelligence to many organisations across the country.Michael is a Discovery Guide at the Churchill War Rooms Museum which is located beneath the Treasury building in Whitehall, Westminster. The Churchill War Rooms is one of the five branches of the Imperial War Museum. The Museum comprises the Cabinet War Rooms, a historic underground complex that housed a British government command centre throughout the Second World War, and the Churchill Museum, a biographical museum exploring the life of British statesman Winston Churchill.Michael has given lectures to the following organisations:-Women’s Institute, Royal Air Force Associations, Imperial College London summer school, Probus groups, Friends of the Imperial War Museum, The Manchester Museum of Science and Industry. Michael is also a guest speaker and lecturer on-board Cunard and P & O cruise ships. He holds a Gold Award from the Association of Speakers Clubs.
