He also teaches and volunteers in several architectural schools in New England. Globally, Kyes enjoys serving underprivileged communities through the Open Architecture Collaborative and Bridge to Nepal. He has had the pleasure of collaborating with many like-minded architects, from local and international backgrounds, through his philanthropic endeavors. Among other projects, Mike led the design of a children’s home in Nepal to care for 40 orphaned children at risk of being trafficked. It is presently under construction and slated to open in early 2020.
