Michael is a design-focused Architect with over 15 years’ experience in Australia and the United Kingdom across a range of sectors, with recent successes in education and sporting facilities. Michael confidently led the interior planning works team on the prestigious and complex Adelaide Oval Redevelopment in a joint venture.His clients benefit from his broad experience across all stages of design and delivery, and from his collaborative, team-based design approach. His involvement with numerous school projects under the UK’s ‘Academy’ and ‘Building Schools for the Future’ building programs enabled his participation in an award-winning pupil engagement process. Students within client teams helped shape the design brief and gave a voice to the end users, enabling a comprehensive understanding of specific project requirements. This process has influenced Michael’s ability to build strong working relationships and deliver informed, appropriate and bespoke solutions.As Project Architect, Michael has led architectural and consultant teams on a number of Sports & Recreation and Education projects, taking responsibility for the design, documentation and delivery of the project. Through a critical path process with clear, concise objectives and a stringent planning program, projects were successfully delivered within time and budget constraints. Michael played a critical role in realising the redevelopment of the iconic Adelaide Oval by leading the design and delivery of 60,000sqm of internal fit-out including hospitality, sporting and operational facilities. He was able to create a positive and productive partnership with key stakeholders and the construction team to proactively address operational, logistical and value management challenges within a fast-tracked program.
