Flight Director
CurrentManage team of flight controllers making up Mission Control Center Houston in support of planned and unplanned operations supporting the International Space Station. Some of the more interesting experiences have included:• Countless hours in the Flight Director chair in Mission Control leading execution for the International Space Station. • Lead Flight Director for Space Station Expeditions 26 and 45, working on a daily basis with the onboard crew and ground teams to manage execution of program science and engineering goals. • Led team that developed and deployed mobile emergency backup control center equipment deployed during weather threats to the Houston area. • Lead Flight Director for ISS EVA-21, contingency spacewalk to isolate a leaking external ammonia cooling system. • Execution or Lead experience with every cargo vehicle that visits the Space Station. • Led team that deployed in-space internet access for the Space Station crew. • Planned and executed In-flight upgrades of Guidance, Navigation, and Control, Command and Control, and other flight software systems.• Executed Robotic relocations of Space Station modules, as well as in flight robotic repair of external components. • Worked directly with Japanese, Russian, and European counterparts, co-chaired US-Russian operations panel.
