I was responsible for assigning, editing and writing content for the sports pages of The Daily Tar Heel. As I writer, I covered men's basketball, football and baseball.

I was responsible for the long-term vision of dailytarheel.com, organizing and promoting blogs and posting and managing content on the website.

I wrote "Daily Links" posts, recruit profiles, posted content to the website and covered various events, including the ACC football championship game and ACC basketball tournament.

As a senior writer, I covered UNC football and men's and women's soccer for the Daily Tar Heel in the falll. In the winter and spring, I covered basketball and baseball, including UNC's run in the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. As the manager of the DTH's "From the Press Box" blog, I was responsible for generating content on the blog on a daily basis and for promoting the blog through social media platforms. I created a daily link aggregation post called "Tracking the Tar Heels." I also started a weekly Storify feature that collected top tweets from UNC student-athletes, and I delegated blog work to other members of the sports staff.

I edited and fact-checked stories, wrote cutlines and headlines, pitched stories and helped train writers. As a writer, my primary beats were women's soccer, women's basketball and baseball, but I also covered football, men's basketball and men's soccer at various times. I also contributed to coverage on the UNC athletic director search and the NCAA's investigation of the football program.

I wrote feature articles that were featured on the front page of the "Living" section of the paper. I mainly wrote music, movie and video game reviews.
