    3 month contract role to assist the group manage an increased workload following an ownership change and a high employee turnover. Civium Property provide financial, secretarial and management services to body corporates throughout the east coast of Australia. The Brisbane branch service over 400 properties throughout south-east Queensland. The accounting has a very high volume of transactions and the business has suffered from a high turnover of finance staff in the last 12 months.In this contract role I have been responsible for the following:(i) Reviewing and submitting to lodging agent 80 BAS returns overdue from December 2019quarter, reviewing Activity Statements for compliance with submitted data and arranging payment of outstanding payables to ATO. Identified that many BAS returns were being completed using incorrect accounting basis compared to the method registered with ATO, i.e., cash rather than accrual. Developed and implemented process to re-work correct submissions and lodge amendments.(ii) Completing on-time submission of 80 BAS returns for March 2020 quarter.(iii) Compilation and delivery of monthly and quarterly financial statements and related information to bodies corporate, some of which had not been completed for many months. Liaising with Community Relationship Managers and accountants to respond to questions raised by Body Corporate Committees and property owners.(iv) Liaising with auditor to clear a backlog of 60 outstanding body corporate financial audits, including correction of transactional errors.(v) Reconciled 45 GST/BAS/PAYG clearing accounts to ensure all prior period returns were correctly submitted.
